We are seeking Black women over 40 who are ready to take control of their health and receive culturally sensitive education and support to manage Types 1 and 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, and pre-diabetes.

FIT Over 40 is a reimagined version of our signature diabetes prevention program, FIT Over 30. This time, it’s for Black women diagnosed with diabetes, is backed by national accreditation and delivered through our upcoming Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) program.

We understand the unique challenges our community faces when it comes to managing chronic health conditions—and we also know the power of culturally responsive care. This program offers more than education. It offers empowerment, sisterhood, and holistic strategies that are embedded in our W.E.L.L. Philosophy.

What You Can Expect:

Support that Feels Like Home

4 Reasons Why We Focus on
Black Women Over 40

01

Higher Risk, Greater Need

The risk of developing type 2 diabetes increases significantly after age 40, particularly for Black women, who are disproportionately affected due to systemic health disparities. This program meets you right when the stakes get higher—and the support matters most.

02

A Critical Life Stage

At this point in life, many women are juggling work, caregiving, menopause, and years of unaddressed stress. FIT Over 40 creates a space to reset, refocus, and reclaim your health with intention.

03

Ready for Real Wellness

This age group is more likely to engage in preventive care and long-term wellness planning. Our program provides the structure and cultural understanding needed to take sustainable action.

04

Community Ripple Effect

Black women over 40 are often anchors in their families and communities. By equipping you with tools and support, you become a source of inspiration and influence for those around you.
